Villepin is pleased to present Across Winds and Time, a group exhibition held in a curated house in Seoul, featuring works by Myonghi Kang, Zao Wou-Ki, and Marie de Villepin. This marks Villepin’s second exhibition in South Korea, following Myonghi Kang: The Colors of Time in 2023. It deepens our commitment to the region and its vibrant collector community, and represents a meaningful moment for Villepin in Asia, as an expression of our values as a family of collectors, artists, and storytellers.

More than an exhibition, Across Winds and Time embodies Villepin’s mission: to shape the next era of great artists’ legacies through collectors and the thoughtful management of their collections. At the heart of this mission is our advisory model, powered by a global network of specialist advisors with deep expertise across art history, market strategy, and philanthropic development. This approach empowers collectors and nurtures meaningful communities around key artists and their legacies, ensuring that art continues to inspire across generations. This philosophy comes to life in the exhibition’s setting  a private residence conceived as a collector’s home, intimate, layered, and alive with memory. With its garden entrance, natural light, and domestic architecture, the space offers a fluid and personal experience, where energy flows freely and art is lived rather than simply viewed. It is less a conventional setting, and more a sanctuary where artworks, ideas, and relationships converge.

갤러리 빌팽(VILLEPIN)이 강명희, 자오우키(Zao Wou-Ki), 그리고 마리 드 빌팽(Marie de Villepin)이 참여하는 그룹전 《Across Wind and Time》을 이유진갤러리에서 개최한다. 이번 전시는 갤러리 빌팽이 《강명희: 시간의 색》(2023) 이후 국내에서 선보이는 두 번째 전시로,서울이라는 도시와 국내 컬렉터들과의 신뢰를 한층 더 굳건히 다지는 계기가 될 것이다. 아울러 컬렉터, 예술가들의 든든한 동반자가 되고자 하는 빌팽의 비전을 아시아에서 구현하는 뜻깊은 기회이기도 하다.《Across Wind and Time》은 단순한 전시를 넘어, 주요 작가들의 유산을 다음 세대에 전하고자 하는 갤러리 빌팽의 사명을 담고 있다. 갤러리의 핵심 축인 ‘어드바이저리(advisory)’ 부문은 미술사학, 시장 전략, 자선활동, 인문학 발전에 전문성을 지닌 글로벌 전문가들로 구성되어,작가와 컬렉터의 관계를 더욱 단단히 연결하고 있다. 이러한 접근을 통해 갤러리 빌팽은 컬렉터의 영향력을 확장하는 동시에 작가와 그들을 둘러싼 커뮤니티를 육성하며, 세대를 아우르는 예술의 지속적인 영향력을 구축해왔다. 모든 예술적 경험 속에서 '관계'에 중점을 두는 갤러리의 비전을 반영하기 위해 아시아 확장 전략의 중심지로 선택된 서울은 자연스레 빌팽의 또다른 터전이 되었다.

전시 공간인 이유진갤러리 또한 이러한 비전을 반영한다. 실제로 한 컬렉터의 주택을 개조한 이 공간은 친밀하고 다층적인 경험을 제공하며, 개인의 역사가 살아 숨쉬는 장소다. 정원과 자연광, 주택 건축이 어우러져 사적이면서도 유기적인 분위기를 형성하고, 관람객은 작품을 단순히 ‘보는 것’을 넘어 삶 속에서 함께하는 존재로 마주할 수 있다. 이러한 비전통적인 전시 환경은 작품과 아이디어, 그리고 인연이 교차하는 접점으로 기능한다. 전시는 강명희가 오랜 시간 세계 각지를 넘나들며 탐구한 명상적 풍경화로 시작해, 오우키의 대담한 추상화와 서정적 수채화로 나아간다. 이어지는 마리 드 빌팽의 격정적 화는 개인적 서사와 상징성을 탐구하며 관람객을 더욱 깊은 사유로 이끈다. 세 작가는 각기 창적인 시각 언어를 지니고 있지만, 모두 빌팽 가문과 긴밀한 인연을 공유한다는 점에서 번 전시는 개별 작가의 유산을 기념함과 동시에 갤러리 빌팽이 구축해온 관계와 궤적을 약한 결과물이라 할 수 있다.
